Home sweet Home

Well. Hello there strangers. I guess we have some catching up to do.

It's been a bit hectic here on my end for the past few months. Between getting laid off, packing and moving, I haven't had much time to ponder up a blog post.

So, back in June I got laid off from my job. Thankfully, they gave me a couple of months notice, so I could figure things out. Well I'm sure it was more for them so all their paper work would be finished before they kicked me out the door ;)

While the whole process, or whatever you wanted to call it, sucked. This really was the best thing that could happen for me. I had been planning on moving back to New England in the fall, but was dreading having to try and find a job before I moved and quitting two jobs I loved so much. This way, I just had to quit one. It was sad to have to say good bye to such great people that I've met in the past few years at work. I'm glad I have made some life long friends along the way!

My Mom and her friend came down to help me with the move. I tried to be as organized as possible in the process. I really impressed myself. But, you know those last few things that you need to pack, and then keep randomly finding last minute, all go in the garbage bag and thrown in the truck, then when you get home, you can't find half the stuff you are looking for. The journey back to New Hampshire went well. I must say, I am quite proud of my Mom for driving that 16 ft truck from DC to NH without any issues!

Being home has been good. It's taking some getting used to though. Not necessarily in a bad way. It's weird not having to worry about getting all your visits and quality time in with friends and family, because you can see them whenever you want! Mallah has finally readjusted to our new home. She was pretty stressed out and confused at first. But she has done really well, she's right at home here in NH.

I've been more active since I've moved home which is good. I haven't really seen the scale change however. But I know it will take a little more effort now. I haven't been eating the best, which I know is a huge reason why I haven't been A) feeling well or B) loosing any weight. I ended up buying a bicycle when I got home. I had all these plans, and ideas in my head, that I was going to ride it around town, hair blowing in the wind and everything. Then I realized, that I have this irrational fear of constantly falling off the bike and embarrassing myself. So, the bike has been a slow process. Though, last week, I did get on it and ride it around my neighborhood for a bit, and I didn't die, or even fall. I'm gonna chalk that one up for a win.

I've also been hiking since moving back, one thing I love most about NH is all the mountains and trails that are so easily accessible for us. Mallah has been hiking with me too, I was mostly afraid that she would give up on me half way through and decide to lay down, but to my surprise, during all the trips, she has done really well! I think she has even slimmed down a bit ;)

I really haven't been feeling the best emotionally. I'm not sure what is causing it. I'm pretty sure, I hate not working. I am very excited to start my new job at the end of the month. I'm the type of person, that can be easily motivated when I am already on the go, but as soon as I don't have anything to do, it's hard to even get me to shower. I can't wait to be back in to a routine again, I feel like that will help tremendously.

I also know, that not having Mike around isn't helping. Going from seeing each other all the time, to not at all, really puts a damper on things. But he's coming up for a visit this Friday, and I am so excited. We will be going on a float trip down the Pemi River this weekend with a group of friends, I can't wait for him to be here, and enjoy NH with me!

I think I covered all areas of interest today. Now, I'm going to go work on being a better blog poster!

  1. Keep up the hard work! One thing I’ve found to be extremely helpful and useful as a supplement to my current diet/exercise plan is Fullbar (www.fullbar.com). Their products (Fullbar shakes) have helped me lose weight and learn how to maintain that weight-loss.
